This is an English translation of the Turkish original. If you use Espi in a language other than Turkish or English, this English text applies to you. If the two versions differ, the Turkish version prevails.

This page is the same as the Settings → Espi sharing rules screen in the app — both are generated from the same source.

The moment you see it, the moment you share it

On Espi, photos are taken in the moment, inside the app. No picking from the gallery, no editing afterwards — because every shot here says “I’m here right now”. The shot you share is the shot you saw in the camera.

The place is part of the shot

When you share, a location is added and shown as district and city. That’s so anyone browsing the feed can trust what they see. Raw coordinates aren’t stored: what remains is which district you were in, not where exactly you were. Browsing never asks for your location.

A shot is about a place, not a person

Espi is an app about places and moments; people can be in the frame, as part of the scene. There’s a reason for this: the people in a photo didn’t choose to be shared. If you’re not sure, ask three questions:

  1. Who is the subject? If the answer is “a person”, that shot doesn’t fit Espi.
  2. Are they in the foreground? A concert crowd is the scene; the person standing in front of the crowd is the subject. If one person fills the frame, they’re the subject.
  3. Are they posing? Someone looking into the camera has joined the shot. Someone walking away with their back turned is part of the scene.

The line is clearer for children. A recognizable child isn’t shared — even as part of the scene. If they’re far away and can’t be recognized, that’s fine.

If a shot is stopped

If a person stands out in a shot, you’ll see a warning. If a face is very large in the frame, sharing stops — but that’s not the end: you can appeal, a person reviews the shot, and if it’s accepted you share it. Until then the photo isn’t published and no one sees it. If a shot doesn’t belong here, anyone can report it; we’ll take a look.

Reporting something

You can report from the three dots next to every shot and every comment. You choose a reason and can add an explanation. You can also block any user.

If it’s urgent or you can’t report from the app, write to [email protected].
